I finally have time up my sleeves of a night time to get out and do some skywatching and thought I should bust out the Celestron Neximage.

The software I was running does not want to work with the Lion OS X so after a bit of googling, I came across the Equinox Pro software, which said it could run my Neximage.

I was looking at Jupiter last night and for the first 15 seconds or so the image is nice and clear, but then it's as if the gain / brightness gets turned up and makes Jupiter look like a bright disc. When I fiddled with the controls, it made no difference. There's no gain controls on the software for the Neximage and wondered if that was the issue that the gain was up too high.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Or can they suggest another piece of software that will work with my Mac? I don't have a PC in my house and my friends all have macs too, so I can't borrow a laptop from them to try. I could possibly go and buy a netbook for $200 but I'd rather not and instead put that towards a new scope.

EDIT

The software that I've tried so far is: Equinox Pro, Macam, and BTV Carbons (No longer supported with this OS X).

:thanx:
