Went out on some very long drives on remote and rough properties and forestry leases today.Travelled over 100km's,did not see much or catch any dingos-except a two legged one poaching, had guilt written all over his face!

I was a bit disappointed, but in the last hour we traveled over about a creek area that had quite a considerable amount of water pour through it-see image 3 and 4.Crossing the creek a large Eastern Water Dragon climb about the washed up logs-and stayed still long enough for some images. He was very close to vehicle in first image-no cropping.

I used a 400 mm prime lens,and settings of F7.1 and 320 sec and 500iso for the first image,and the 70-200 F 2.8 L lens for the second at F2.8

Nice to see a large specimen approx 70 cm long, going about its life in the wild.

Hope this is of interest-thanks for looking

Thanks Larry,David and Jennette.

Yes David its quite nice this area, its at the back of Taromeo Station, and just goes on and on-we left at 2 pm,got home at 5 pm.

Yes Jennette, the dragon was most cooperative and sat there on the log.the first image he was very close,we moved on and came back and he was still about so changes to 70-200.

The third image shows a tree with all bark smashed off from water pouring through creek, note the level it must have been compared to vehicle.
