Hi,

Managed only 40 minutes of reasonable data last night. The seeing was quite bad, very warm and muggy and the clouds finally rolled in.

The tail is 4.5 degree's long and growing!

Canon 1100D, 70 to 300 zoom lens at 100mm on HEQ Pro 5 mount.
ISO 800 5 x 8 minute subs dark frames applied.

Processed in DSS and PS7.

Cheers,

Justin.

Another good one Justin! I saw it in my scope last night, But could not see the tail-too much light pollution

Nice work Justin,
I had a go at this myself the other night as the rock DA14 was in 47 Tuc as well but it clouded over just as I was getting the framing sorted so all I got was Tuc and the comet.
All that setup time for one lousy frame damned annoying so I'm glad someone got the shot.
Good stuff.

Thanks Rolf,
A lot of humidity so the seeing isn't great but very happy to have been able to find it and get some happy snaps for the family album.

A lot of polar orbiting sats up there.

Thanks Laurie!

Even with a 80mm finder scope I could only see one degree of tail with dark skies. Of course my eyes are not what they used to be.

Thanks Ken!

Thanks Rolf!

Thanks Paul!

Cheers,

Justin.
