Yeah it is very similar to the red plastic fantastic Tasco I had as a pre-teen, that lead to a 60mm METAL Tasco, then...

But the views through these are dismal, and will probably turn all but the keenest off.

:thumbsup: To right Colin , I got one of these years ago for a lark but a Celestron branded 50/500 . Exactly the same scops , pretty good optics but crappy mount .
I gave it to my nephew who was interested in astromony and it did indeed start him on this hobby , he now has the full use of my Chromocor'd Saxon 150mm f/8 frak on HEQ5 in NZ and loving it .
Yes a good starting point for $20 and without that little scope he would have missed out . He was a totally broke 13 year old then .
He has since passed it on to someone else .

It comes with an erecting eyepiece, so it'll be perfectly adequate for spying on the neighbours :P
