This is the first morning I've seen that had passable seeing. As Ozzy said; let the madness begin. :P
Original 640 X 480 + a 1.2X resample.

Nice one John! I left my Saturn run too late this morning because of PANSTARRS so the seeing has deteriorated because of the rising Sun. :)
Cheers,
Tom

Thanks Tom. Yes I have to shoot Saturn early here too (50 degrees for this lot) because the seeing slowly goes downhill. Anything over 45 degrees is ok by me. It'll get better as time progresses.

Cool! My very first IOTW. Thanks Mike:thumbsup:
Thanks Graeme.
Thanks Aaron. It is rather a complicated camera the DBK, but I'm sure you'll pick it up in no time flat. Yell though if you need any advice.

Thanks heaps for the offer, How many frames roughly were these images...did you shoot @ 60FPS??
asimov
12-02-2013, 10:17 AM
No, it's still too small & dim right now to go for 60FPS unless you were at F10-15 with the F10 SCT & IMO you really don't want to be imaging at anything under F20 if it can be avoided. So these were at F22 30FPS 3 min. captures & each stack I went with 1750 due to the rather average seeing.

A nice result Asi and it is only going to get better as it rises higher, earlier.

I read that people only stack best frames. How do you choose when to have 3000+ frames. Do you look at each one?

john how long are each avi for saturn? do you switch debayer on while you focus? Then switch debayer off after u focus and center? I have trouble getting colour back into y800 avi files. I try in registax but cant get any colour.

Again, how good is this , , Had to have another look and bump it up, didnt want it to dissapear off the page just yet, Talented stuff Asi :painting:
asimov
19-02-2013, 01:23 PM
Well thanks for the bump Bob, & the compliments - Glad you like the image(s) mate:thumbsup:
originaltrilogy - No, you just have a quick look at the AVI (video) to detemine the seeing between 0 - 10 & stack amounts accordingly.
Mark - 3 min. captures at this (F22) scale. I'd drop it to 2 mins. if @ F30. Yes I switch debayering on to focus; seems to be easier while it's colour, plus I always bump the livefeed up to a 2X zoom. I'm using Y800 + unspecified these days. Use Autostakkert Mark. Registax doesn't like Debayering as it uses an inferior algorithm..(Nearest neighbour). Autostakkert uses something a lot better;)

i just tried loading my avi's in autostakkert and this happens. Every single y800 avi :(

I saw Saturn last night through a number of telescopes including my 8" Celestron at the Ice in Space astro camp and they were all amazing views. Your image is "sick" just as my granddaughter said when she viewed Saturn last night:)
Amazing image John!
