Hmmmm well I have lots to learn in this field of imaging I think :confuse3::confused:
I have the data to make a full disc mosaic but Imerge didn't really like it & so I had very bad gradients in the image.
Somewhat happy with this but yet..
Wouldn't mind some expert advice here guys. My gear is: The 40mm PST & the DMK21AU04.

John,
That's actually a very nice result - not over cooked...
Well done!

Thanks Ken! I've learnt my lesson ages ago about over cooking the images I think
The main problem is very noticeable in this Mosaic. I either need to have more overlaps in the sets; go a DMK41 or maybe flats? I'm not sure :question:

You could use artificial flats -or pixinsight's gradiant remover...
There's lots of processing hints over on the new Solar Chat forum - well worth a visit!

Thanks Ken. Thought straight away of artificial flats using Registax but that didn't work. Thanks for the link, I'll check it out!

I agree with Ken the detail on your image is fantastic John! Looking forward to seeing your revised version once you've sorted out your issue :)

Ok, problem almost 100% solved. Went out for another go this afternoon & rather than a 4 pane capture set I went with 6.
Not sure about the false colour just yet - I'm aiming for that nice golden colour but I haven't nailed it yet.

What did you use to stitch it? Ralph's 4 panel solar mosaic succumbed to AutoPano. He gave me a link to the full versions. The reduced ones in http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showpost.php?p=937360&postcount=6 had the overlap problem.

Thanks Laurie.
Hi Andrew. All I have is Imerge which does a faultless job most times. The 6 panel mosaic seems to have done the trick though so I'm happy with the results.

I am so jealous. I don't have anything to show that's even 10 percent as good after years and years of trying with a PST and then with a Denkmeir modded PST
Well done
ohhh jen watches this thread with interest also ;) i just posted a how to image through the PST thread :)
Looking good John im not even close to that quality yet LOL

Well that must be a bit heartbreaking, Narayan..
Thanks Jen.
Ah you bought the double stacker David, well done & look forward to your results. I'll take a pic of the setup soon for you:thumbsup:
Oh, & a 1.5X drizzle of the original. Gotta test the waters in this respect to see what I can get away with..
Edit: adding my half disc from better seeing early morning.

Top marks John.
That would have to be one of the best if not the best image from a PST in the world. :eyepop:
Congratulations.

Geez Ralph, are you serious? :eyepop: I must be doing something right then lol! Can't wait to get out there again! - Go away clouds!
Thanks Matt!
Pics for David. You can see the work I've done on the DMK adapter compared to the original still standard adapter on the DBK.
In the second pic you can see my special dovetail bar - It's a piece of wooden skirting board :D:lol:

Well Ralph - High praise indeed & I must say I'm shocked. I must admit to being somewhat of a fanatical perfectionist when it comes to imaging but your comment just gives me real incentive to just see what I can get from this little PST. I'd say the seeing was an average 3-5/10 at the most.
Yeah Matt, quite laughable hey!
