Hi all,

i know this has been asked and answered numerous times but i wanted to ask, the best of these two choices.

Choice 2: Bintel now do a kit for powering your scope. http://www.bintel.com.au/Accessories/Power-Supplies/Bintel-12V--br-DC-Solution/933/productview.aspx

Now obviously the jumpstarter is cheaper but the bintel kit appears to last longer. im not too fussed on the price as the bintel one will only cost me about 120, as i dont need a few of the cords.

What are people thoughts on this

:) go the Bintel one for now. If you take the scope out of town you can always plug the mount into the car cigarette lighter, if you have a long enough lead.
ha ha, I actually used my jumpstarter the other day to jump start my car. It worked a treat too, hardly using any power.

IMHO the Bintel is the far better solution!
The gel cell batteries with the proper charger will last forever!
I'm still using 20Ah gel cell's which are now well over six years old and still 100%.
A great investement.

If you want to save some money you can buy the exact same parts as in the Bintel kit at JayCar.

I run my HEQ5 Pro on a small car battery that is past it's best, and it will
handle about 7 or 8 sessions between charges, and isn't too heavy.

Although that may be convenient, you will get greater life from your battery if you recharge after every use. If not in use for an extended period, you should periodically re-charge as the battery will slowly self-discharge in storage. I recommend re-charging after use or once per week, whichever comes first.
