Hi,

I've been going through old data recently tying to improve on previous attempts at processing. My main aim is to bring out fainter background nebulosity.
I'm surprised how much more was in this image of NGC 6188, certainly going to reimage with longer subs.

Supplied, repro left - original right.

Telescope 8” f/4 astrograph on a HEQ Pro 5 mount, orion mini guider.
Unmodded Canon 1100D at ISO 800.
13 x 300 sec subs ISO 800.
11 dark frames, 9 flat frames and 9 bias.
Stacked in DSS and post process in Phototshop.
Cheers,

Justin.

Very nice Justin. I like the soft purplish look the nebula has thanks to the unmodded camera. That's a lovely rich star field you have there.

You might want to check the colour balance around those bright stars though at they look almost mauve instead of blue, but that's a minor issue.

Cheers,
Cam
