Spotty cloud cover last night, but did manage to get about 45 minutes of Lemmon.

Decided to run with a straight LRGB sum, which shows the faint, but quite long tail fairly well.

That SBIG camera does a nice job, Hmm one day!

Like the way the you have processed the comet, so sharp in the middle and the greens gradual change flows nicely.

Think I'll have to pay more attention to this.

Cheers,

Justin.

Thanks guys. Lemmon has a pronounced stellar core, and is certainly moving against the background stars... hence the presentation. :)

congrats on a superb image and APOD. Fantastic tail definition

Slightly off-topic, i was the the Uni of Adelaide last night to listen to Daivd Malin do a talk for ASSA and he showed one of your total solar eclipse images, the one that shows the different stages with the Corona visible at totality.

Wow, that's an excellent image Peter. It looks almost 3D with the tails.

I only wish I had my spectroscope set-up complete and functional...
Anyone out there with a spectroscope to record the Swan bands in Lemmon???
(Infact, are any observers using the Lumicon Swan band filters????)

Hi Ken,
Yes, Chris is (Outbackmanyep), tho his obs are on facebook. His observing and posting the reports frequently on there.
These filters aren't sold anymore- I just tried to buy one recently, they now do one called a "comet filter".
