Hi all,

I was up at Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast for the weekend, and took the opportunity to photograph the SS Dicky early on Sunday morning. It was the first time I've visited this wreck, and I can see why it's a popular photography location. These were exposures of between 30 secs and 10 secs.

(The SS Dicky ran aground in a cyclone in 1893, and has remained on Dicky Beach ever since.)

Thanks for looking!

Cheers,
Stephen

Thanks guys!

It's a shame there wasn't a spectacular sunrise happening behind the wreck... It would be a great place for moonlit star trails I think.

Cheers,
Stephen

Been planning to do some Milky Way shots there for years... never got around to it. I'll have to sneak out one night :)

Stephen that last one is awesome. It's by itself and if you didn't know the wreck or seen the previous images, it appears out of nowhere and creepy. Sort of a skeleton of something.

Photo 2 would have been a cracker too if it had not been for the ships in the background.

Thanks for showing us!!

If anyone plans shooting it, you'd better be quick.

Seems either it won't last much more pounding, or Council MAY remove the remnants as it apparently poses a risk.
