Seriously, since dinosaurs were warm blooded (oh yes they were!) and there is a family of dinosauria with wings (oh yes there were!) and that the genetic change would have had to occur in the egg, upon hatching, mum dino would have had a handfull with the impressed chick. Doubt it would have been a chicken though. Hmmm, what came first offspring or an entree?

I have similar theory to yours Roger... maybe

Birds evolved from reptiles, at which stage they were still reptiles. Reptiles
are egg layers. At the stage in which evolution deicded they would become
chickens they were already laying egg's. If my line of thoery is correct,
then yes the egg did come before the chicken. You would really need to go
back a few evolutionary steps to find out exactly which came first. Egg or
Thing?

The birds from dinosaurs theory is just that Roger, a theory. They have a common ancestor, yes, but that's a reptile, not a dinosaur.

Even ID ( :rolleyes: ) states birds were created before animals.
No need for evolution with ID, just manipulate the genetic makeup of the available lifeforms to make some new critters to play with.

I'm not sure how you come to that conclusion. If God made everything perfect, surely its perfection should be understood in terms of God's criteria , not ours.

Which came first, the egg or the chicken, I like em both fried, but the farmer gets my vote.

Must be from being forced to go to sunday school as a kid. But hey maybe
they should of let me decide, God is about as realistic to me as Santa.
Jesus if he ever existed was just another Tim Shaw or a natural leader of
his time and was able to make some folks listen to his words. It's not
un-common for people like this to pop up down through the ages. People
were very scared of the unknown, if someone was able to explain in a
logical way then people would take comfort in that. And good for them too!

I don't want to turn this into a religeous debate, I just want to respond to the odd comment here or there that strikes me as being a little bit uhhh,

God and Jesus are unreal to you, and that is the way you are and where you are, and that doesn't make of you a lesser person. I just can't help but call you on your assertion that 'its not uncommon for poeple like this (Jesus) to pop up down through the ages'. Pretty bold statement when you consider that we changed from BC to AD calculating because of him; who else has had a (sofar) 2000 year influence on mankind that can match his?:shrug:

BTW they couldn't even get me to attend Sunday School when I was a child; I even struck a deal with the Headmaster at primary School to avoid going to scripture classes. I wasn't really a bad lad!:whistle:

I'll just make a quick comment first inspired by the previous post - I went to Sunday School for a whole 4 weeks, just long enough to entitle me to join the Boys Brigade. Then I dropped straight out of Sunday School again. 3 years later I dropped out of Boys Brigade to play Rugby League. :P

Anyway ..... I'm going to heat up this debate by plaing devil's advocate: an egg is the shpe it is because of where it comes from, which not to be too blunt is the chickens bum!


The more "rounded" end of the egg even has a small air sac in the lining (you've seen them) as a form of cushion as this end hits the ground first. The other more tapered end is again shaped that way as a kind of design acknowledgment to the chickens bum -think comfort, and how would you like something that relative size coming out of one of your orifices.

So if the very shape of the egg is so dependent on the design of the chickens bum how can the egg BE that shape if the chicken (and it's bum) weren't there first??

(I personally don't care which came first, I like eating eggs, and chicken, and I just like saying the word "Bum" a lot in public!!!!)

Not quite. The chicken is a domesticated wild fowl. When can the first fowl be classified as a chicken? When it was taken from the wild and caged? When it was bred and tamed in captivity ? Did the first true chicken come from a wild fowls egg or was it's egg the first chicken egg?

Actually I was refering to people who've had an impact on the world in
general.



who is "we" as in "we changed from BC to AD" :shrug: I would have to say
that was adopted through the evolution of trade, commerce and
colonization. Perhaps if the Inca's had of got off their butt's first and did
what the romams did then maybe we'd all be sitting around a bunch of
rocks on sundays praising the sun. The prophet Muhammad has been
around for 1400 yrs and he's doing alright for himself too, not bad for a
14yr old. Even Hitler will be remembered in 2000 yrs...
