Pushing the FL on Solar

Tried some higher Mag with the Lunt CaK wedge today but lots of spots that are not on the chip turned up. I defocused for a flat and ended up with something .Also a few Ha shots with the Lunt 100.

Good stuff Derek - I saw that little dual prom surge today - quite nice visually. We had a good morning in Brisbane - some of the better conditions that I have seen for ages before the clouds rolled in. Needed to be patient as there were periods of excellent seeing that deteriorated and returned - a great visual session.

Impressive selection Derek, as it happens I have just been watching Brian Cox with an episode of "Wonders of the Solar System" one very interesting subject he looked at was how the water flows in the Iguassu River may be related to the Sun. There was a chart covering the water flows in the river for the last hundred years, this chart had three well defined peaks & troughs in the flow over that time. In an effort to tie in the effects of the Sun on this, an Argentinian astrophysicist compared a chart of the Solar Cycle with that of the water flows but there was no similarity at all. They then compared a chart that looked at the intensity of light reaching the Earth, amazingly, over the same time period it also had three well defined peaks & troughs and when it was overlaid over the water flow chart for the Iguassu it was a perfect match. Old Sol certainly does drive more than just the weather on Earth.

Very interesting Trevor I often wonder if similar effects influence the amount of honey my Bees produce.It would be a long term project.
