Celestron wedge brought with Celstar C8+ (1994 vintage). Fully functional, quite a few paint chips but no damage to actual metal. Solid cast metal (aluminum I think). Has azimuth adjustment screws but alt setting is just by loosening bolts no fine adjustment control.

Can deliver in Sydney area or will post at buyers cost (estimate weight about two kilograms) I'll take it up to the post office and see, it should fit in a post cardboard box with bubble wrap.

Surplus to requirements now that I have put C8 on EQ mount

- Asking $150 :eyepop:

I have no idea, if you would like some measurements please ask and I will run the ruler over it. I think they are similar size scopes so there is a good chance, butbyou would need to compare the spacing of the holes in the bottom to see. With the C8 you put one bolt into the bottom of the scope and then lift it on and it went into the slot at the top of the wedge. You then put in two more bolts and tightened it all up. The three bolts form a triangle on the base of the scope. I think this is a fairly standard arrangement so you would just need to measure the distance between the hole centres.

The face that the scope bolts onto is basically circlular so measure the diameter of the base of your scope.

I'll run the tape measure over it this evening and post the measurements.

Postage and handling

Took the wedge down to the post office, it weighs 2.8 kilos but they said it would be based on the box size. The box I got is 405 x 300 x 255. The cost depends on on where its going to, Darwin was around $50 while Newcastle was $15.

I can package it with polystyrene packing and bubble wrap so it should travel ok.

OK the distance between the holes is 141.5mm center to center, all three form a triangle with the same spacing. The maximum distance clear between the sides is 208mm so this would be the max diam of the base of the telescope mount base although the plate that it bolts to is a little less at 202mm diameter. Looking at what appears to be your scope on the Celestron site suggest that it may or may not, the design of the forks and base are a lot different to mine (see attached photo) which is a 1994 C8.

Hope this helps you decide.
