Hi All,

OKay here is my first attempt a a jupiter rotation, using different programs from registax to align the frames, ppmcentre to centre the BMPs, paint shop pro to straighten jupiter, because I moved the mount, it tilted slightly. Also used animation shop 3 to do the GIF.

Gain ~30%
Exposure 1/25
Gamma 50%
Brightness 50%
10FPS
30 second AVI'
Seeing 4/10
9 frame Animation.

Telescope: TAL-1,Homemade barlow ~4x. Phillips ToUcam ProII.

Cloud moved in so cut the session short.

Oh no!!!!!!! Don't do it Andrew :scared: If you get bitten by the animation bug that will be the end of your sleeping at nights!!!!

 :poke: :poke:

Nice shots mate, there is a great deal of satisfaction to be had in putting together a smoothly flowing animation. But be careful, it can become very addictive trying to get that perfect animation.:doh::doh:

:) Cheers, keep it together and keep up the good work. ;):cool2:

Thanks Paul and Mike for the comments, this was only a test to see if I could do it. Tell ya what it's bloody hard doing it without the planet being tracked.

Still loads of fun trying it and it gets me out of the house.

I had about 5 mins between frames Ken, it moves pretty fast.

Andrew for aligning the images, if you can get hold of ImagesPlus it has a fantastic planetary alignment function.
