Hi all, thought that we could follow suit and have our own little astro night here in Adelaide somewhere. I know of several spots are quite dark and reasonably close by to Adelaide. If you are interested I will set a date say in two weeks for a Saturday night and weather willing we can have a get together.
Let me know what you think.:D

I just noticed that the Astronomical Society of SA is holding viewing night on Sat 12th a couple of k's from my house, so I think I might pop into that for a while to say hi and see what it is all about. So i could turn up and meet ice in space locals late or similar. Or maybe next time.

Sure was there, but we didn't risk getting clouded out and travelled a bit north, near the Radio Telescope. Which happened to be right near the edge, luckily for us we were still in the path.
This is our page on it.

Not a bad night, fairly moist on the oval though. Where was Peter and Paul? What scopes did you guys have? I was right on the end closest to the carpark with my black 8" Dob.
As shaun said, we met up there, I wonder if you have made your mind up yet? (what scope to get) Glad you had fun looking through my scope too. Was good meeting up with someone off the list.
I doubt I will be going back to Westminster, probably okay for the guys down south, but I would prefer to go North for much darker skies. At least I know what it is like now, will have to make an effort to get to that other site, tooperang.
Again good to meet you shaun.
