Hi,

Another repro while waiting for the moon to go.
The Lagoon nebula is like the orion nebula to process, so many ways and hard to balance.

In this repro I wanted to bring out more out lying nebulosity and enhance colours and contrast, sounds quite easy but it's taken me a few hours to get it to this stage.

Supplied repro on left, original on right.

The images are a combination of eight, five and two minute exposures at ISO 800, a total 1 hour 52 minutes.

Using equipment listed below.

Cheers,

Justin.

Repro certainly brings out the faint nebulosity, Justin, but I actually prefer the original-I think the colours are more natural. A great image anyway!

Thanks Laurie!

Was a bit too much saturation, I've replaced the repro and backed off on saturation 15%, but I'm one of those that like a lot colour and contrast.
It seems to help highlight some details .

Cheers,

Justin.

Excellent job bringing out the fainter details without introducing too much noise. Well done!

Nice image Justin - the repro does do a better job in the fainter regions at bringing out detail.

Thanks Dan!

Slowly learning that there's more data to bring out in the background, I usually destroy it.

Thanks!

Thanks Ross!

Thanks David!

Justin.
