Hi
A quick shot I took last night of the Carina Nebula with the new focal reducer.
Only 60sec exposure.
C9.25, F6.3, EOS 20Da, ISO 3200 (i know i need to start shooting at ISO 1600 and preferably 800...)

Hopefully I'll have mastered drift alignment this weekend and can start producing nicer shots of longer exposures soon!

cheers

G'Day Frank,
Very nice m8, I am on the look out for a focal reducer, do you have a similar shot without the reducer?

800 is the go so it is said but I am impressed with what 3200 can do.. not as noisy as I expected. Great work.

I thought one used a focal reducer because you could not get shots as good as your first one without one:) ..... er seriously from a movement control side of things looks like the long focal lenght does not present you any problems.

Nice shot Frank
I'ts not easy to image at that sort of focal length.
Welcome to the " trail of tears " ( and money ) that is astrophotography.

Thanks Guys!
I've got a lot o flearning to do bu boy, am I working hard at it!
Spent last night in freezing weather trying to work on my drift align. I reckon i got 50% of it improved but it's not quite there yet.

I'm really happy with the focal reducer in terms of field of view it provides.

thanks again
planning another all nighter in the next few days...
cheers
