Hi Again,

Another from last night, this time, before some rogue clouds ruined my imaging run, I thought to capture 2 of the 3 members of the Leo Triplet, M65 and M66.

Only 12 x 3 min subs, with darks and flats. Processed using DSS, Startools and PS CS3.

The CLS filter helped with the moon, but I still had to process out some skyglow gradients, so I might have to try this super cool camera in a dark sky sometime soon.

Comments and critiques are welcome.

Another one to add to my rapidly expanding library :D

Cheers

Chris

Glad you are getting some sky time. We just have clouds and rain ATM?
nice rewarding image

Nice Chris - a good level of detail for such short exposure time!

Good one Chris!

I'll have to get a CLS filter so I can do more when the moons up.

Cheers,

Justin.

Thanks Allan, Seems the secret here is to image on an odd day in January.....its worked for me so far....:)

Thanks David, yes I was surprised how much detail showed up, the moon had almost set by the end of the sequence and I did some judicious layer sharpening of the galaxies with Lucy Richardson deconvolution in PS, so it came out pretty well, considering the relatively short 36 mins of subs. This camera is a keeper I think.

Do it Justin, they work a treat even when the moon is washing everything out. Seems to be a perfect fit on the Atik as it doesnt give the blue tinge like the DSLR does.

Thanks Laurie, I appreciate the kind comments you have for my images.

Cheers

Chris
