Why is it that so many Facebookers feel the need to post a picture of every darned thing they shoved in their piehole? Have we become such a lazy culture that posting pictures of food is so culturally significant? Is food our new God? :) :) :)

Have a former student of mine - now almost a Captain - who, until his child was born the other day - posted incessant pictures of food - what he had for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, crew food in flight, food at destinations... AARRGGHH! Same with a model I shoot regularly - it's food, or it's her fiance, or food, or fiance...

Facebook - taking actual human interaction out of our culture for the last 10 years...

Have a look at how many food related TV programs are aired and the food sections in book shops, that should answer your question ;)

EXACTLY!

I worked as a chef to help pay for my flying costs. I grew to despise food VERY fast! Yes, I am a big guy, but that is purely due to laziness and a penchance for bloody Coca-Cola (my coffee, with 6 spoons of sugar :) )

You know what's better than food pictures?

Game requests! :D

(I've been guilty of posting pictures of food when I'm out with friends at a restaurant).

You photograph the food when out with friends?

If I get the camera out at all, I tend to photograph my friends.

I did photograph dinner once, my brother turned the remains of his seafood platter into two foot tall crustacean-transformer-bot.

And the 'Like' emotional blackmailers...

"Like if you have a heart"
"Like = care, Ignore = heartless"
"Like if you want to rid the world of cancer" <--- Seriously? How is liking your 'like mining' post going to rid the world of cancer?
Over it.

+1 here too

I'm on FB but really only for some IIS people and my daughter down south. Helps me keep up with the grandkids growing escapades. I get on it about once or twice a week but post very little, ... and definitely NOT food.

It is interesting to see a lot of the rubbish that is posted, ... and the GAME requests .. Yawn not !

Except, there's no food and little rubbish. :D

I dont think that you can ever leave face book, once the data is published it is always stored somewhere. Google is the same you can delete your details from your website, but they will still come up on the google search engine....ie all the searches are stored somewhere.

Big brother internet is storing information.

They're much the same. Even the colour blue is ubiquitous throughout both sites.

Instead of talking with strangers on here, you talk with friends on there. :)

I blame QLD's extended stretch of cloudy weather for threads like this getting off the ground. :P

I think we all need some photon therapy. :astron:

Likes can be bought and sold. Ask Facebook investors in another couple of years what they are really worth.
