And is it any good.
My reasons for asking are that I want a better understanding of the different types of scopes before I do any upgrades or possibly build my own next scope, as I want it for photography I thought a good understanding of the optics wood be good.

Hi Ken
I have a copy. It is quite technical, so may suite. Would you like to borrow it? I can pop it in the mail for you.
BTW Bintel sell it if you need it quickly.

It's good but limited coverage on different types of scopes. It basically in the later sections does an optical trace of the "top" three in each design group.
The section on eyepieces is again good, but it just covers the more popular types/ designs.
I still like "Telescope Optics - Evaulation and design" by Rutten and van Venrooij. For a telescope maker/ designer it's better.
There are some very good optical webpages which will give you uptodate info....

(This is definately one of the best!)

Thanks Malcolm,
That sounds great, I'll be out and about Sunday so I could come down for a drive and get it from you if that suits. I'll PM you.

Thanks also Ken any current reading on this will help me with getting a better understanding and I would think it will also help with setting up my current equipment for better results.
