Really great pics. Paul & Geoff, lucky b's. I got to within 3 A/M and then a very large black cloud came thru. Just checked at 12.10 and it's cleared again!.DAMN. Would have been a nice quick partial as well.

Man o man Geoff, you'd better get a band aid. That's a nasty graze there. Too cool:cool2:

Well I'll just have to overwhelm you with quantity then. First shot, (top one) prime focus with a 2X barlow, about f/20.

This one prime focus again, with a barlow but attached to a meade variable tele-extender. I'll work out the f ration and focal lenght tomorrow/nearly today and post them later

this one is taken at prime focus using positive eyepiece projection and a meade tele extender same story about the f ration etc, tonight

And I'll put this one in simply because I got the moons. Yes I know its slightly :P:D overexposed

ps these were shot through my Celestron 102, the one with a cheese grater for a focuser.

Actually Paul from where I live about 2/3 of Jupiter got occulted and it only occured to me to try the cam after it was mostly over.

Now for something a bit different.

Motion blur! As jupiter zooms past the moon. Oh wait, that's not right. :P

It's actually the moon zooming past jupiter. Depends on your perspective I suppose, and which object to track on.

A very nice series of pics Andrew. Did you notice the actual time spent behind the moon? :2thumbs:

I didn't even think of doing this, I was too eager to get the pics off the camera onto the computer when the planets disc disappeared. I can tell you that between Jupiter003.jpg and egress001.jpg (last pic of the ingress and the first pic of the egress) lasted 17 minutes and 21 seconds. Not alot of time behind the moon but long enough to clear my memory card to get more images.
