i am at work at the moment suffering the air con (currently 42 outside) so i had a quick process of some of the data i took at duckadang - so here is my version of SOL way way back then. Lunt 60 doublestacked on G11 wit ha few other scopes, and great company;) - taken 13 august 2012 around midday while waiting for the kitchen to open:lol:

I know its old stuff but I haven’t got my observatory going after my hardware failure of the pc.... I so desperately want to get a shot of the current sunspot group. I simply love the detail the Big boys are getting

Good to see you mulling over old data and producing such a good image, David.

Nice work Dave, nothing lost with the age of that data, unlike the rest of us who might have aged a teeny amount since then!

thanks JJJ - I have just about forgotten how to do it its been that long

no it wasn't that long ago - where I enjoyed myself and indulged in a few photons - who am I kidding - that was ages ago

yes it was great and I think that at the time there were a few others imaging only that bit while I was in camp

I have to Allan, it all I have. haven't imaged with a scope for , well , since duckadang

yes mate - is it true that you are kept in the freezer and only brought out to image on special occasions;) I love your work Dennis - its always top shelf:thumbsup: something that inspires me;)

LOL! Yes Dave, with the variable (read lousy!) SE Qld weather and the loss of my mount whilst Takahashi repaired the control box, my excursions have been somewhat limited.

I do however, feel quite refreshed after weeks and weeks of unbroken, wholesome, restful sleep, unpunctuated by the need to stare at a dull, red computer screen in the back garden until the wee hours of the morning!:)

Cheers

Dennis

Very nice image Dave but I would've been much more impressed if you sweated it out like the rest of us. :P

Dennis i havent used me observatory since just before Qld astrofest in August last year. i feel embarrased about that, but the weather has really been crud. we now have a weeks worth of showery weather after the very hot days with dust and smoke:sadeyes:
