Saw that shot the other day as well Ian, once in a life time image i reckon, looks like a snow caped mountain of dust.

Remarkable image. The atmosphere never ceases to amaze me with its many phenomena.

Is it your picture Ian? I think I remember seeing in on thewest.com.au quoted as being off the coast of Onslow?

No, it's not mine, I got it from a friend who works up-north and was there during the event. Who took it - I don't know.
Looks like a mobile-phone photo, but it's really remarkable ...

I'm 99% sure this is the Onslow dust storm and not Narelle.
At work on my phone at the mo, but can verify when I get home later.

Actually, now I think about it, Narelle never made landfall, so yes it is the Onslow dust storm ;)

Also, I always like to credit a photograph. TheWest gives credit of this photo to Brett Martin of perthweatherlive.com (http://perthweatherlive.com/) ... he's got some more pics of it on his site :)
