I figure there will be quite a few Ha pics later so I'll post this flaring I captured late this arvo. I always have my 60mm Daystar set up on a grab and go mount for a quick look just in case. If things look good I quickly roll out the Lunt 100. Also earlier in the day did some experimenting with the 127mm APO in WL(Lunt Wedge) and Cak(Lunt B1200 Cak Module). In doing so I really think that to capture granulation such as you see in Dennis's pics a minimum of 140mm of aperture is needed unless seeing is perfect.

Nice capture Derek, I watched a bit of this flaring earlier on, tried a 2.5x PowerMate on the "Luntonado" but the seeing wasn't up to it. Glad you captured what you did.

Very nice Derek, I suspect seeing has a part to play but you are also trying to compare different types of optics :). You should not run out of light with 127mm aperture in WL at high mag.

Nice one Derek. It is really great when that happens.
I wonder how many of the little buggers we miss?

I'm optimistic Ted so I've left the 127 set up .Its just that i,ve noticed all the 140mm Shots always get that granulation.
