it seems meade have re-designed there lx800's.there's talk that there better,one would hope so recalling them then a design change.time will tell talk is on shelves in february..

Meade missed to boat totally with the 800. Poor engineering and pathetic software, didn't even get out of the gate when it was recalled.
Meade have lost the plot IMO with a cheap attitude to their customers. If you spend that amount of money on a mount you expect it to work out of the box, not wait for a re-furbishment.
Really pathetic quality control and management and Meade could take a leaf out of SWs book with their attention to detail and customer support.

your right alan.when you buy something you expect it to work.not some 6 months later...i would be so cranky if purchased a lx800 and was still waiting for it from it's recall..

be interesting to see how people act and buy this new model..

:thumbsup: Yes, Meade only have them selves to blame , advertising a mount and expecting customers , who had handed over their money , to wait 12 months or more ? pathetic .
I see its just another example of Meade's very POOR customer service .
And that poor service has been Meade's bane for as long as I can remember , no sympathy from me !!
