On Nov 29 I witnessed an awesome storm cell at the Cape Liptrap lighthouse. The lightning got so close I had to stop the cameras and lay low to avoid being hit. Some of the brightest bolts I've ever seen.

My camera was taking continuous 20 second exposures and lightning lit up every 2nd or 3rd frame. Outside of the bolts it was pitch black and still. Each bolt sent a shock through my visual system. Pretty darn scary!

Best lightning images I have ever seen.

WA was awesome for storms, except if you were in them!

Great shots Colin. That last one is a cracker. Love the cloud structure in the images. Certainly looks like a super cell.

Outstanding, once again. :)

Can't wait to do more of this type of imaging. :)

Wow, what a storm! I can certainly appreciate the fear factor from a rapidly approaching lightning storm ;)

So amaizing, seeing the storm base approaching through consecutive frames, What an experience and well captured, some put up with cold for sunrises and astro, others put up with solar imaging, but facing a super cell head on is so much more Epic, Dangerous & Thrilling Etc !
Awesome stuff ! ! !
