To all our friends at the Snake Valley Astronomical Society, I hope that your clubrooms and property survived the fires last night. More importantly, I hope that everyone stayed safe!!

I'd heard the fires were "near Ballarat" - but saw on The Age this morning that they were in Snake Valley!
Hope that our SVAA friends out that way are all unharmed and ok - but has anyone heard that our mate Ken's ok??

Heard from Ken, he has been out fighting fires for the last couple of days, fire missed his house and SVAS sheds by a couple of Kilometers.

Thats sort of a 'good news, bad news' thing. Good that Ken's place and the SVAA stuff is OK, bad about the fires and destruction.
Lets hope that the fire season comes to a very early end, its all a bit scary.

Shock horror.
I'm away past Lakes Entrance and just heard of these fires at Snake Valley.
Glad to hear Ken and family are all safe.
I won't be making the scheduled SV Club Meeting this Friday, but hope those that do attend aren't effected by the fires and smoke. Last Year's January meeting was a blast !!!!

I saw the news last night and I was also worried about the group. But it appears that in general our friends are OK.
