Hi people. Here are a couple of snaps of Jupiter from last night. The first using no filters. The second with a blue (82A) filter

Scope: 8" Dob, 2X Barlow
Camera: Toucam
Processing: Stacked the best out of ~150 images using Registax. Wavelets adjusted

Scope: 8" Dob, 2X Barlow
Webcam: Toucam
Gain: 5
Saturation: 100
Gamma: 10
Exposure: 1/33
Captured about 200 frames (no tracking)
Stacked in Registax (~130 frames)
2 Wavelet @ 40
Resized to 200%

Good pix.

Personally, I'd ditch the blue filter for imaging. That's just my preference.

I think your unfiltered shot is far better for colour and detail.

What were your setting/capture details ie gain, gamma, fps, exposure time etc?

We like all those details:D

:gday: Welcome Swannies does your nick indicate that you are a sydney supporter in crowsville? :D wats going on? - suddenly SA has a huge representation here :evil:
I always new we were the astronomy capital of Oz - should be on numberplates 'SA the astronomy state' - its out of this world?

Yep am certainly a swans supporter. Was lucky enough to go to the GF last year :) . I get a lot of people from Adelaide having a go at me as I apparently should follow an SA team. Adelaide is my 2nd fav team though.

Hey swannies, welcome to ISS and thanks for posting a nice Jupiter shot to get started. Plenty of detail. I'm assuming this is with no tracking? If it is all the more amazing.

I like the Swans too, used to love watching opponents bounce off plugga like they were little kids trying to get at a lolly hehe those were the days :)
least your not a PA or eddiewood supporter thats all that matters :scared3:

You assumed correctly. No tracking was done for this picture. I amazed myself with the amount of detail I got with only about 100-150 good quality frames to work with. Furthemore, I was using about 400X magnification for it as well
