G'day folks.
Seeing as I have a spanking New C11, this beautiful hybrid scope/mount is up for sale. It is a Black tube Celestron Super 8, originally came with a Celestron tripod and fork mount if people are interested in that (Fork mount has Byers worm gears -not included in this package as yet)
This great package is ideal for a starter planetary gazer as I have included...

1. Celestron Super C8 + finder and visual back OTA- with brand new Bob's Knobs collimation screws
2. Now mounted sympathetically (i.e using existing bracket fastenings by an engineer i.e not me!) on a Meade LX 90 GPS GOTO Fork mount.
That is to say you have the classic optics of the C8 mated with the technology of Autostar/Audiostar/GPS acquisiton and simple handbox or computer (via autostar) control. Computerised classic dude!
Punch in your preferred type of alignment, point due North and level the scope and it will find 2-3 bright stars which you centre and now you have great GOTO alignment. Also good enough for video of planets or short exposures of bright deep sky stuff.
3. For planetary video I include a modified (by someone on IIS) Phillips Toucam with USB or serial control and 1.25" nose piece. )
4. Brand new (with box and manual) Audiostar/Autostar Handbox controller
bought for $195 just recently-makes sky surfing a doddle.
5. Includes Brand New C8 sized Kendrick Dew Cap and leads (worth $109)
6. Includes Hardly used (as I have other controller) Kendrick dual channel four output dew heater controller ( Worth 149) with free velcro on back!
7. Includes Meade f6.3 reducer/corrector for SCT's (worth $169)
8. Includes, for day time skygazing, a 9.25" (fits the 8") white light solar filter (bought from Bintel a few years ago about $179) still with box.
The Meade field tripod included has lost a nut but I made a rubber gasket for it so the base of the scope sits snugly and is tight and secure when the little arms (tangent arms?) of the tripod are against the legs.
This whole set up is yours for a positively barmy

$1900 PLUS POSTAGE

I am in no rush to sell but would like to sell as complete as it is easier than advertising all individually.
I can take part payments over a few months if you are saving for the next total eclipse holiday.
I would prefer local as all this is bloody heavy but will package all at buyers expense.
PM me for details/ more pictures

This is like buying a C8 or a Meade LX 90 8" nowadays bit with classic optics and loads of extras.

How big would box be for shipping?

would be easily two boxes - one for scope and bits, other for tripod. Will measure when I get home from work.
