This may not be the best section to post these, so if this should be moved, go ahead.:D

These are some star trail shots I have been taking over the last two months. Enjoy!

Good on you Chrissyo. :cool2:

I think just about everyone starts out doing star trails. Its a great way to get your feet wet into astrophotography. And the results can be very satisfying. People invariably go "Oh Wow" when you show them the photos.

Can you give a bit of detail as to the sort of equipment you used and the exposure times, film/camera speed (ISO?)

The camera I used was an old (quite a bit older than me!) Konica Autoreflex TC. The film speen was 400 ISO. The camera has a mode where it continues to expose as long as the button is pressed down, so I used some stickey tape to hold it while it exposed.

The time of exposure varies for each of the pictures. The longest might have been somewhere around 1 - 1.5 hours long or so.

As for the pics where the moon is shown several times, I just used the standard 'hat trick' to cover the lense. For the first in the gallery, each shot of the moon exposed for about 30sec before the camera was covered again, and for the last one, each shot of the moon was about 10 seconds long.

Not much more to say really. I did use a tripod for the shots, but thats not an overally exciting point.:P

Good results with homemade solutions.:) I've not used sticky tape on a bulb setting. Good thinking. And creative use of the blackhat trick.
