Hey folks,

recently visited family up in tamworth and made the most of the much darker skies compared to wollongong.

This was a great chance to get many individual shots (100's), with my canon 40d and 100mm macro mounted solely on my tripod. no motorised mount as of yet. Also, this was a good opportunity to learn that, if you can take more shots, the better the result when stacked, (there must be a fundamental limit though).

two images attached, the first image, 60x4sec, compared with 260x4sec.

All the best to to anyone living in the Illawarra facing potential bushfires tomorrow.

Nice Images Tim , I must try to get more subs.Love the nebulosity captured.

You can definately tell the difference in exposure time between the 2 images.

What iso setting did u have it on.

thanks for posting.

Orestis,

As for exposures, I had the following:

20x ISO800
80x ISO1600
160x ISO3200

Plus dark frames for each of the ISO settings.

I am not really sure that the ISO800 shots provide any real significant data for my relatively short exposures, I need to do some further tests.
