Hi All,
I took some quick pics tonight, despite the limited field of the pic...did I get Eta Carina this time? i realise I cant get the entire nebula in one shot until I get a focal reducer.
cheers

Yep you certainly did Frank, and a damn fine shot it is too. It looks like your tracking was spot on as well.
Eta Carina is the bright star top center of your first shot. The nebula itself is called the Keyhole nebula
They are beautiful shots Frank and like Paul said, you've got the tracking spot on.
Your focusing looks pinpoint and colours are great.
Well done.

Nice shots Frank, very nice. Your shots have improved 100% since we spoke the other day, you don't need me to show you how to drift align :D I think I will sit back and watch you at work tomorrow night.

Thats your best so far Frank....see what the better drift or polar align can do.
The closer the better especialy when your doing unguided images.
Just need to back off that ISO3600 to 1600 then 800 once you start doing some longer exposure.
Once you get your focal reducer you will see straight away that ISO 3200 is way to high.....your images will come out white once you put the faster focal reducer on with ISO3200.
love the natural whispiness to your shot :)

Thanks everyone!
I was actually pretty surprised myself to see the shots come out as they did.
Thansk Paul. I see which star you mean.
John, I still need your help if you're happy to help! I cant wait to have a real experienced hand on site!
cheers
