Hi all,

I've started to get back into macrophotography over the last few days, after not doing any for about 9 months. It took a while to remember how to get a decent image, but I captured a few worth posting this weekend. All taken using the Tamron 90mm macro and 430 EX II speedlight (1/250th sec at f/11 and 400 iso).

#1 is a male jumping spider protecting its nest,
#2 is a butterfly which sat nicely on a frangipani leaf for me,
#3 and #4 are a female jumper which had just caught a fly for lunch,
#5 is a lynx spider protecting its nest.

Thanks for looking!

Cheers,
Stephen

nice work Stephen, the skipper looks well poised,I too have not done any macro for along time-with the lack of rain in the S.E (QLD) lately, the insects seem a little harder to come across, lots of the plants seem heat affected-maybe resulting in lower numbers than usual.I have a little creek I pass in the bush-was hopping to get some damsel flies, but went through it today-and no water at all:( so dry

Thanks Laurie, Chris and Michael!

Yes Chris, the insects do seem to be much harded to find as a result of the dry weather. And there's more hit dry weather on the way this week...

Cheers,
Stephen
