I spent a very pleasant couple of hours on the beach surrounded by soldier crabs trying to image the sky. I ended up with a lot of rubbish photos and a wet bum. Top fun though, and with a bit of Photoshop wrestling, here's the best of a bad crop!
I wafted my torch over the tinnie to lighten it a little - should have gone a little slower. The Seeing at Burrum Heads was superb. and only a small amount of light pollution from nearby villages.

Really nice picture !
But the corners are very distorted. I have the same experience with my Sigma 10-20mm @10mm with >90º FOV. The 8mm is even more.

Thanks SkySurfer.
Yes I agree, and I guess has to be part of the fun with a UWA!
This is another photo with a 5 min exposure. I have warped the horizon straight(ish) but it does show that the sky isn't a flat place with 120 degrees of FoV. I also discovered that Boats don't stay still on the water for long periods...
If anyone had any bright ideas about flattening these wide shots, I'd love to hear!

Thanks Chris - and after my first day back at work, I'm looking at it a whole lot more fondly now!

I have to confess that the after shot was lifted from a newspaper: http://www.frasercoastchronicle.com.au/news/burrum-heads-tornado-bomb-say-shattered-residents/1734153/
Not a pretty sight...
