Call me slow if you like but since the upgrade(?) to IOS6 wifi as been very slow keeps dropping out and is a real pain. Spoke to Apple and tried everything they said to try no go Spoke to Netgear via phone and email tried everything they said no go.
After all this was tried and failed I purchased a new Netgear modem/router installed and now everything is right with the world. 2 minute Videos that would take 20 mins to download now play flawlessly. I can now even look at some of your photos again without threatening the iphone with replacement with 2 cans and a bit of string.

Adrian,
Try a firmware upgrade on the old modem (if you can now be bothered). That often fixes things, too.

Firmware upgrade was done about 2 months ago on advice from Netgear with no change.

Sounds like you got wifi N in your new router, must of being something bad happening on the 2.4ghz band around your place. I have had a few problems here with the 2.4ghz band and even a few devices will crash my router, another wifi card wont work with some other devices on. I think the problem is the 2.4ghz band being used in everything from phones to keyboards and game controllers and along with so many devices which arn't regulated to FCC standards.

I had problems with a Netgear router and changed to a dlink which stopped all my problems except that the range was a bit lower and I found that the PC in the observatory would not link reliably with my iPad for team viewer to work. So I bought a WiFi extender and now it's brilliant. Everything controlled from inside the house with lightening speed.
