Still waiting on my main imaging scope so I had a go at this Neb with the ED80from my house Brisbane last night.

10 x 4 minute unguided images at ISO800 with UHC-S filter and Canon 350 Moded...no flats or Bias..just a single dark frame used for all calibration.

I am very happy with the tracking over 4 minutes....the mount seems to be performing very well now...I still need to do PEC training.

Its still a little to red but that how I like ATM...lol

Warning 1.3mb

Thanks guys....

Yes Zane its G11 with gemini level 4....but I did have some frustrating problems previously trying to get any kind of lengthy exposures unguided....I'm glad to say it's all working well atm.....touch wood.

Atleast while all this frustrations was happening I got to learn my mount.

Another fine image from you Tony.
Well done, nice detail.

I wish I could make out the running chicken but I can't see it yet.
Does anyone have an outline of it?
I've never been able to make it out on any of the images I've seen.

Thanks guys.

Scott...I have the new Meade 10" LX200R OTA ordered for my main imaging scope.

Mike it was 3 weeks not 1 week....hehehe

Andrew....it's very hard to make out the running chicken because he has no head....it's head is seperated from the main Neb and you can make outs it's beak....if you look it up the head and beak is RCW60 and would be another frame up from this image....hope that helps a little.

Try this one

http://www.naturespeak.com.au/LambdaCentauri.htm

When a chicken runs it is semi erect, has it's wings out flapping and it's neck extended in the direction it is running. In this case the chiken is running right to left and the seemingly detatched little red head is on the upper left...?...see it?
