So Hello, I'm new to the group and from the states. I saw your group and thought..........since i'm outgoing and interested in meeting all interested in astronomy,........ beginners, intermediate and advanced, i'd geaux ahead and register, take my chances as it were. My skies are different but thought i might learn other aspects and perspectives from technical to preferential viewpoints pertaining to all that is astronomy, including Telescopes, Mounts, Observatories, Cameras, Softwares, AP, Processing, etc... etc... etc...
I got hooked a year and 3 months now. I have a StellaVue 90mm Raptor f/7 Refractor, Orion VersaGo ll Altazimuth (push-to)Mount, Correctional Diagonal (SV), Homemade Smartphone Adapter (for earlier imaging) but, just received my Brand New Canon DSLR T3i EOS 18-55mm EF-S S ll Lens Kit (for new imaging). Still saving for my Atlas EQ-G (Skywatcher EQ6). I belong to BRAS (Baton Rouge Astonomical Society) in the state of Louisiana. I enjoy outreach w/ the public through my club and teaching young and old what little I know of the cosmos.
I've been active in many things including Carpentry, Sailing, Frisbee, Pool, Hunting, Golf. I love adventure and traveled to 46 of the 50 states for either work or play. I am glad to be joining this group out of Australia as I believe your country to be the only other place of interest on the planet (except for Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory, Chile).
Love to hear from ya,
Steph
Fly me to the Moon and let me play among the Stars, let me see what spring is like on Jupiter and Mars. (Frank Sinatra)
