Hi.
Did some imaging at Lyrup in the Riverland and caught a short burst of a bit better than average seeing. Used LRGB with a 4 minute L run and selection of the best 50 second sequence - then derotation-combined that with RGB channels in WINJUPOS. seems to be a good strategy when the seeing is so variable, since it doesn't matter so much if the seeing screws up in one of the colour runs.
Still not the best resolution, but enough to see the really interesting structure in the northern hemisphere with a whitish spot almost on the equator, a very bright white spot in the NEB - and a mini "GRS" down towards the north pole.
thanks for looking. Regards ray

It is generous of you (and others) to share photos Ray. Great details in this one.
Thanks for allowing me to use one of your Saturn shots as my avatar photo for so long. I have recently put one of my partial solar eclipse photos up in its place.

Very interesting image, Ray. I liked the white spot in the NEB and the bluish storm near it. When I saw it in my low resolution photos of December 25th I thought to be the consequence of any impact.
But your imaging shows it very well as storm.

Nice work Ray, it was very similar conditions up here as well but didn't hold up through to the following morning for Saturn though.
Well done.

Thanks Stu. Sharing images is part of the fun. thanks for the update on your avatar - appreciate the courtesy.
Thanks JJJ - glad you liked it
thanks Giuseppe
Thanks Jorge. yes, I guess it is the same region as in your remarkable images.
thanks Trevor. The seeing fell in such a big heap at about midnight that I packed the gear up and didn't even try for Saturn - needed sleep as well. But it is nice to finally get some conditions that are not totally useless and even a couple of degrees extra altitude seems to help a bit.
