The extra altitude is helping with the seeing (34deg for this image) and the high altitude winds were below 30kts. Early in the session, the low frequency contrast was excellent, but fine detail was missing. then, after 20 minutes of really bad seeing, it settled down to much reduced contrast overall, but with some finer detail appearing. Still not really good seeing by any means, but there is enough detail to show some of the chaotic and changing structure in the NEB.

I tried video derotation in WINJUPOS on some of the data from this session, but the result was not as good as manually selecting the best bit of the long AVI and stacking that - next to try combining data from multiple short runs. thanks for looking. regards Ray

Great image Ray. Is it shot with the DMK21?

A top effort Ray especially considering the conditions that have been dished up over the last couple of months.

Another very fine Jupiter Ray. Certainly worth the trouble to hang around waiting for the right seeing moments.

Super result Ray, factoring in the elevation.

thanks Trevor - yes, it has been ordinary, but it's getting better.
