Spoke to the weather man a little earlier today. 'Head north for clear skies tonight' he says. So that's where I'm going. Wish me luck! :prey:

Clear dark skies! ... at long last!
All my plans were shot when I got immersed in the awesome widefield views of centaurus, crux, carina through my new pair of 20x90s from AOE. Spent a good couple of hours there between scope and binos. By the time I got around to the Virgo cluster most of it was quite low behind a tree.
The 20x90 pulls the galaxies nicely too. Just need something better than a camera tripod to see above the 45 degree mark. Had a pair of 12x60s too. They are great for scouting hand held kicking while back in the recliner. These binos are an absolute bargain and do very well (from AOE also). Highly recommended as a second high power hand held pair. :)
XW 10mm took the prize for best galaxy and planetary nebula eyepiece in the 12" Dob. The XF 8.5mm was a close second. Nothing else came close.

The skies are looking "good" for later this week, maybe another Anzac week coming up. Unfortunately, my neighbour came back from holidays at the weekend...maybe I will invite him over for a squiz!

Steve,
Glad to hear you had a good night  That night was productive to me as well. Is it possable to get a mini review on both your Binox (20x90, 12x60) as I have been interested in the large aperture inexpensive binoculars for some time now but wasn't sure how good they are
many more clear skies to you, Mick :)
Not much happening here though, but i'm told it is coming, but nobody knows when....:D
