Wow, do I feel old...

Last night I had the opportunity of seeing the band "Foreigner" live in Sydney...Foreigner had a whole range of hits that I grew with in the early 80's...The show had several of the original members (lead guitar, guitar/assorted, and keyboard) who did a fine job...the new lead singer was okay but he did not have quite the high end range of their original lead singer...the new fellow on drums was top shelf...and the bass player (new I think) was okay...all in all a good fun "rockin" night out with the wife. However, seeing how old (now middle aged) vibrant performers from my youth are has me feeling a bit "aged"

As a warm up band a group called "The Choir Boys" played...I was not familiar with them but the were pretty good although it took a while for them to get their sound balance right...they did rock.

In both instances it was a bit of a hoot to see now "middle aged" (but still mostly attractive) women and a few men rush the stage in a rock music frenzy! :) ...I reckon it was 1982 redux....same outfits just a little "ill fitting now"

Still a good fun trip down memory lane!

Nothing like a good night of live music to make you feel young again, but I agree seeing "older" musos play is a little unnerving. I've got a Foreigner CD in the collection and it's one of my favourites.

Foreigner were earmarked to come to Perth but got canned due to slow ticket sales...but Simple Minds did a couple of gigs a couple of weeks ago , missed it unfortunately but a friend went and said it was great :)

It was all good fun...

As a follow-up I went out and bought a Choirboys CD (I already have many Foreigner ones)...their sound seems to capture "The early 80's" pretty well...
