View Full Version here: : Bit of trouble with gamepad
Hi, I have a HEQ5 and use The Sky 6. I recently sorted out The Sky 6 and EQMod ect. I bought myself a wireless gamepad to make life easier after seeing a few blokes at the Snake Valley camp using them. When I went to use the setup disc that came with it my virus program said it was a trojan and wanted to quarantine it so I did. I did a calibration in windows vista through the control panel tho and also in EQMod. IT did work but the mount went to park by itself every 5 mins or so and then halfway through my session the gamepad stopped working all together. I could still use the mouse on the N,S,E,W in EQMod tho so the link was still fine. Any suggestions??? Thanks Cam

Unquarantine the gamepad file it zapped, or reinstall. A LOT of antivirus programs do false-positives and call them trojans, whereas it is just likely a port controller (with antivirus thinking it's a virus trying to send OUT data).
It has come to the point now where AV throws out so many false-positives and DELIBERATELY - various reasons why. They even trigger sometimes to known safe developers that write to the registry (and DEFINITELY false pos to many legit keygens :) )

I had troubles getting a game pad to work with eqmod, so in the end I went with a USB num pad. Click on the "pad" button on eqmod, and them you can use the num pad just like the game pad, with N S E W, slew speed adjustment etc

I think you should check your power options, maybe usb sleep is kicking in or something.
Thanks for the input everyone.. The file that was quarantined turned out to be the playstation to usb converter driver. Im sure that was the problem. I wont be so quick to believe my virus program when Im installing legit hardware next time. Thanks everyone
