SX Superstar guider first as planetary

A couple of months back I bought a SX Superstar (http://www.sxccd.com/superstar-autoguider) guide camera as opposed to the Loadstar with the thought I might use it for some Planetary imaging well last night I gave a go on some Lunar shots.
It's a mono camera of just under 1.4 meg pix 1392 x 1040 and these couple of shots were taken with the SX software controlling the camera.

The software only allows single images although it does have an auto stacking feature for multiple images, suitable for nebular imaging.

Anyway these shots a single frame using semi auto exposure control processed in CS5.
I'm pretty happy with what I got as the seeing was crap, these were doubled in size in CS5 with a some sharpening and then cut down again for the web.
The first shot is with a 2x barlow and both shot through my ED80

Thanks Matt, I'm going to see if I can find some better control software that will allow me capture video although I'm unsure if the camera can be used for video at this point. Will make it a lot easier for stacking if I can.

:thumbsup: Thumbs up on those Ken , very good detail on the barlowed image , so this camera is only 1.4 mega pixles , right ?

Yes thats right Brian, I had doubled the image width from around 1400 pixels to 2800 to see how the image handled being enlarged in tiff format in CS5 and it came up ok.
The images I posted had then been cut back down to 1500 pixels wide and converted to jpeg.
So I'm very happy with the image quality of the camera although it will be primarily used as a guide camera it's nice to know I can use it for planetary if I want.
