Hi everyone,

I'm selling a SkyWatcher Black Diamond ED80 kit in very good condition. I'm selling it to replace it with a Petzval design for more back focus to accommodate a long image train (rotator, OAG, FW, CCD, etc) - but it's fine for DSLR and basic CCD imaging.

The kit includes:

* OTA - 80mm aperture, 600 mm focal length (f/7.5)
* 2" Crayford 10:1 focuser
* 2" dielectric diagonal
* Straight-through 9x50 finderscope
* Tube rings
* Vixen dovetail
* Sturdy aluminium carry case
* Orion Sirius Plossl 6.3 mm eyepiece

Andrews (http://andrewscom.com.au/site-content-section-10-skywatcher.htm#refracting) and Bintel (http://www.bintel.com.au/Telescopes/Refractor/SkyWatcher-Black-Diamond-ED80/984/productview.aspx) sells this for $999. I'm offering it for $650.

I can deliver in the greater Brisbane area, otherwise shipping is additional. I'm open to negotiation too. Please PM me if interested.

Thanks!

Johnny,

you can get the ota only for around $650 but that excludes the case, eyepiece, etc.

Andrews does indeed sell the above package for $999 and they're the cheapest around.

Thanks Morton. Yes, this is the package that both Andrews and Bintel sell for $999:

The OTA that johnnyt123 was referring to doesn't include the other items (aluminium case, 10:1 focuser, diagonal, eyepiece, finderscope, tube rings, dovetail).

Dave,

I used to use GSO 25mm and 50mm tube extensions on it without issue. Always came to focus.

(this used to be my scope BTW for those wondering)

Lewis, I was referring to the post-flattener back focus distance, as I'm looking for at least 123 mm (or more) whereas typical flatteners for the ED80 are designed for T-mounts (55 mm).

To clarify for any potential purchasers - if you're using a DSLR, a OSC CCD, or a mono CCD with FW, you'll most likely be fine.

Please PM me with any further questions or comments. Let's keep this thread sale relevant as per the IIS terms & conditions. Thanks everyone! :thumbsup:

To answer a PM question: I would be happy to ship this overseas, with postage at buyer's expense. The hard case is approximately 20x35x65 cm and weighs 8 kg.
