Mate that is not a split - that is a cleave most extraordinary. I assume you have a Barlow in the optical train? Very nice mate.

I can feel a whole new wave of photographs comming on now, perhaps a book of images of double and multiple star systems.

When I have viewed the double of Antares I would call it green how come here and others call it blue?:screwy:

Pity I can't get good seeing conditions here; I'm rather annoyed with the weather pattern here in SA of late. Poor old Antares was jumping all over the screen. :)

Yes, I used a 2X barlow with a diagonal plus an extension tube, 1100 magnification is probably a rather reserved estimate.

This amount of mag really tests out the colimation! I spent well over 1 hour tweaking it. Still not perfect but close.

I got several AV's of jupiter (not at this mag) but could not solve the onion-ring problem even with 70% gain & 45% gamma...I don't understand, but it is what it is; deleted 'em.

The toucam is pretty limited Lester, but I may give a few more doubles a go. I've got antares,Alpha A&B (& possibly C) & sirius & her pup so far.

Visually, Antares companion looks green because Antares is so bright and being red in colour, the eye is somehow fooled into seeing the much fainter companion appear as the complementary colour green. (Red/Green)

Photographically, the CCD is not fooled so the "true" colour, blue is revealed.
