Hi all.

Here's some more shots from this morning. These were shot with a Tamron 90mm f/2.8 lens, borrowed from a friend.

Unfortunately the scene didn't really present itself for a 90mm focal length, but I wanted to try the lens out.

The faster lens was immediately noticeable, and it took me some time to get the exposure right, and I still didn't get it quite right. The brightening and foggy sky didn't help either as it produced a distinct lack of colour.

The lens seems very good. It definitely appears sharper in the RAW shots, than my other shots taken with the stock 18-55 lens, especially around the edges.

It's also a macro lens, so I hope to try it out on some insects or something soon.

Anyway here they are.

Hmm Mike I'm starting to suspect that your a closet boatie, nice pix, which boat is yours?? I'd be interested to see a side by side comparison with the Sigma 17-70 that comes highly recommended by Terry (Cometguy) in this thread (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=9623&highlight=sigma+17-70).

Nice images mike, but i reckon you maybe should have left the post in the foreground out, your eyes are sort of drawn to them rather than the boats.
But who am i to say, i'm no expert :D :D
