Hello,
I am still slowly processing my photos from Coonabarabran 2 months ago.
This is a Ha widefield of the Rosette Nebula taken with a Nikon 180mm lens.
Exposure is 10 x 10 minute subs.
Photo has been slightly cropped.

Really nice wide field of this object. I'm beginning to like the black and white images more and more as some times RGB look a bit plastic to me as people tend to push the colours too much.

Thanks Robin.
Yes, it is big. My photo is with a 180mm and I think I could use a 50mm lens and still fill the frame with that region.
Thanks Mario. I'm glad you like it.
Congratulations on your photo being published in Sky & Telescope.

Hi Bert. I'm glad you like it as your widefield and narrowband photos are a great inspiration.
I'm not sure how to calculate the field of view, but it's a 180mm lens onto a 4/3, 8300 Kodak chip.
Thank you.

Hi Justin. Glad you like it.
The amount of detail surprised me. I think shooting drom a dark site gives as much advantage to narrowband as it does to RGB.
Thanks
Thanks Allan.
I agree. Black and white has a special quality that can't be matched.
Hi Rick.
Thank you. I'm glad you like it.
Hi Jorge.
It is a region full of so many objects and so much detail no matter what focal length you photograph at.
Give it a try with your equipment.
Thank you.

Hi Mike.
Glad you like the photo.
The faint streaming arms was a nice surprise.
I think photographing from a dark site makes a huge difference even for narrowband Ha photos.
Thank you.

Thanks Steve.
I was surprised at the amount of detailed captured. I think the dark site had a lot to do with it.
