What a great night viewing

I'm in the Wimmera with big dark skies, & I thought i'd rub you lot up the wrong way by saying....Wow! what a blast last night was. beautiful, crisp clear viewing with not less than 7 moons around Jupiter & M42 well what can I say! Magnificent.. Glad I moved to the bush..:D

Although we have just had three clear nights in Melb (clear for Melb that is!), I bet your Wimmera skies are 100% better Doug. Wish I was there. :thumbsup:

:D Hi Doug , and lucky you .The weather here is typical wet season , reanosible days , build up about 4pm , rain and clouds then all night .
On the 7 moons of Jupiter :shrug: I think you were seeing the 4 main ones and 3 back ground stars , as I think the next brightest is around 14th magnitude, then 16th and so on . It takes at least a 30 inch scope to visually see the others , I might be wrong and please correct me if I am .
