this is my first image post for ages,The weather here in the UK has bee shockingly bad and this object doesnt get very high over here...anyhow

The Phantom Nebula in Orion...this one just eats photons. 60mins in Red, 90mins in Blue, 120mins in Ha and 30mins in green. Its a tad noisy and still need loads more but this is what i have for now

cheers

Lovely result Peter, I sympathise about the weather, must be very frustrating with such awesome kit sitting largely idle...

Very nice result, Peter!

BTW, I'm in the process of assembling and collimating my AG12, so I predict a few months of crap weather here also ;)

Thats a new one on me - good to see you imaging, you are wasted in the N Hemisphere especially with UK weather as Orion rides high in Oz.

I do feel for you. My folks in the UK complain bitterly about the weather.

Anyway, to the image....very nice and well deserved. Not seen this one before, so great catch.

cheers

Hello Peter. That's a pretty good image - a bit magenta for my tastes but still a delight. Well done.

manythanks everyone. Its one of those you really have to search for, not easily found in planetarium softwares.
We had another clear moonless night...thats two now this year wow im on a roll.....so i have more data sitting waiting to be processed but been too busy to be able to do anything with it...

I had a chance for a couple of hours last night so I ran off LRGB 75,40,40,40 on this object since it was more or less directly overhead. My results are not a shadow of yours Peter so respect is due. It is one seriously photon-hungry object.

many thanks everyone,
Peter it really is a tricky target very low levels of light, fortunately the AG12 is a photon hoover perfect for these type of targets. i have some more data to add to it but not got round to processing yet.
