Will pay $500 for 12" GSO Dob with untainted optics. I will pay more for optional items over and above standard equipment normally supplied with the units.
The DOB has to be located in Sydney unless one can offer shipping included in the price.
I know that some may think my price is a bit low but with the prices from some of the shops now days and with the 16" GSO dob on the horizon....

Thank you Gents
I do not want fully worked on DOB, I am after standard GSO 12" that sell for $799.00 new.
I would like to have the pleasure of tinkering with it myself and adding my own options...
Now $500.00 for a second hand telescope that costs $799.00 - not too bad I think.
On another note - I have submitted the post so prospective sellers can remember me when its time to sell, I am not in a hurry for it.
I welcome your comments, please keep them coming.:welcome:

Fully worked Dob! I like that!
Trouble is anyone who has a Dob like that would have worked it some at least: add extractors, a sports steering wheel etc. ;)
But maybe a lightbridge upgrader will come along, but its unlikely.

Thank you Steve
Nothing but 12" will do. The 10" is too close to my 8" SCT.

G'Day Astropolak,
For whats it's worth IMHO would you not be better of just buying a 12" mirror and do all the " tinkering " you want.

Hmmm, yes it may come to that....
If I am putting together a Dob it will be 14-16". Ready made 12" Dobs are cheap and at reasonable price - no way I can make anything like those for less than $1k, probably much more..

I just sold mine for $900.00 Canadian picked up at my door. It had a GSO Crayford focuser, was fully flocked, and had many mods on the base and tube with a 32mm generic EP included. ;)

No, thank you.
Promised to myself not to buy ever again from that establishment . Prefer Bintel, at least they know what they are talking about...and are honest with themselves...

I've only bought plossls and accessories - found them to be OK to deal with. I reckon you need to know exactly what you want though as they're not as hot on advice. You can't go too far wrong with Bintel - don has been a mine of info for me.
Cheers and Good luck buying your 12" dob.
